Retired from the Army & Navy. Work at a U.S. Government Printing Plant in Germany. Married a German girl I call "Maggie" because I have trouble saying "Mechthild" properly. We own a VERY SMALL town in Bavaria, which keeps us busy in the tourist seasons, Summer & Winter. Since my father-in-law didn't run for mayor this time, "someone else" is able to help out with the vacation apartments.  And as long as this "terrorist" thing stays low-key for another three years, I'll be TOO OLD to get called back to active duty.  I guess my MAIN claim to fame is that my BROTHER and SISTER never left Cahokia. My mother did, she arrived Saturday. I'll be delivering her ashes to her native England in Spring. As I have dealt with all of the branches of the military:-drafted by the Marines in '69 - ran down to the Navy recruiter & enlisted to avoid Vietnam, was sent to Vietnam, anyway. Wife left me. - worked in Saint Louis for almost 2 years['73--'75]. Remarried; a child. - joined the Air Force before it was too late in '75 ,USAF wouldn't give me what they promised, Joined the Army as a "Boat  Operator  in Virginia Beach, VA - Got two QUICK promotions and became a Tank Platoon Sergeant at Fort Riley, KS [1976]. - Assigned to "most deployed unit in Army history" in Germany-- saw my (then) wife 52-days out of the 700-days she lived "with me," there. Didn't  take too long before the Army moved her and my two kids back to Saint Louis... divorce #2. My "good life" began when I met my current wife. Her family owns a small town, very small. But we DO have a mountain in the front and back-"yard." Europeans pass their properties on to their children: my wife, their eldest.

Well lets see here, I'm currently living in Il, Waterloo area. I have 6 children, yeah I know what was I thinking. I have a wonderful husband, we do a lot of drag racing as our past time, some of us never grow up, do a lot of street racing to. I have 2 grandchildren already! There will always be people who come in our lives we never forget and seeing them at a reunion is the greatest thing. Hope all is well with my graduating class, have fun all!
